Blue Print for Staying Healthy
It is important to remember that the majority of us were born with bodies that have a natural blueprint for good health.
Unfortunately, mainly because of our modern way of living we deny our bodies the opportunity to follow that blueprint. Today’s lifestyle has managed to become so busy with tasks that are anything but healthy. Our diets, lack of exercise and sleep, increased exposure to toxins and pollutants are only a few of the factors contributing to a rise in disease. It has become the norm to opt for the quick and easy way to eat: Going to the nearest fast food and ordering pizza, burgers, milkshakes, or fries. Eating this way may be very convenient and consume less time, but will also offer less nutrition and too many calories. It doesn’t take long for unhealthy eating habits to take its toll on your healthy body’s blueprint.
Proper nutrition along with exercise and good sleep are essential to building the immune system, which is the body’s natural defense mechanism against infection. Multitudes of studies have proven that diet is a key factor in maintaining a healthy immune system. Your immune system is highly dependent on your nutritional intake to function properly. A weakened immune system makes it difficult to resist infections, resulting in illness and often irreversible damage to your organs (ie: heart, kidneys, liver).
The single most important thing that you can do to keep your immune system functioning properly is to wisely choose what you eat. Science has repeatedly shown that the essential vitamins and minerals needed by the human body for optimum health exist in natural foods, plants and herbs. It has also shown that the majority of Americans do not choose foods that provide the nutrients the body needs. We rarely meet the recommended daily intake of fruits and veggies and we over consume sugars, fats, and processed foods. In addition, many of the fruits and vegetables that we do eat, are coated with pesticides and toxins and have far less the nutrient content than they did 10 years ago.
Bottom Line: Once your body becomes nutritionally compromised and your immune system weakened; your natural blueprint for good health is being set up for destruction. Just because you do not ‘see’ signs of illness, doesn’t mean you’re healthy. By the time cancer or heart disease show their signs, they have often been brewing for some time. The diagnoses of an illness maybe too late. Prevention is really the objective! Therefore, it is imperative you evaluate your lifestyle habits. Determine ways to improve your nutritional intake and do something positive… now.
What to do? Buy organic when it is appropriate and feasibly possible. Start cooking at home where you have control over the contents of your meals and portion sizes, and join the majority of Americans who turn to health supplements to help them achieve balanced nutrition. Taking nutritional supplements helps compensate for the deficiencies in our diets. They are not intended to supply 100% of your nutritional needs…they are called ‘supplements’ for a reason. They simply provide vital nutrients that are so often not provided in the foods we consume. Once again, science has shown the tremendous and positive effects nutritional supplements make on maintaining good health.
Help your body stay true to its God given healthy blueprint by feeding it properly, exercising daily and giving it the rest it needs. You’ll be surprised at what little steps taken daily can do to improve how you feel and look, not to mention how long and happily you live.
