FDA Makes Important Omega 3
Announcements
Fish,
other omega-3 rich foods and dietary supplements recently got an
okay from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to carry
health claims on product labels, stating that they help lower the
risk for heart disease. This will help consumers make choices that
will help improve their heart health, which is important considering
that an estimated 500,000 Americans die from heart disease annually.
In addition to numerous studies on the cardiovascular benefits of
omega 3’s, research shows that these essential oils help protect
against breast cancer and prostate cancer, chronic fatigue and
neuropsychiatric disorders like Alzheimer’s disease. (To get your

Eat Right For Your Brain
The brain is the most energy-demanding organ in the body, requiring
a constant supply of nutrients. Re-cently scientists have discovered
that the brain has the ability to rewire itself throughout life. Not
only does nutrition hold the key to brain health, but it appears to
play a pivotal role in thinking, memory, and various neurological
disorders like Alzheimer’s disease (AD).
Scientists are scrambling to understand this condition better and to
find effective treatments. Currently an estimated 4.5 million
Americans have AD and that number is expected to reach 16 million by
2050. Research has revealed strong evidence that shows ways that you
can be proactive in your heath and help prevent AD.
