Center for Disease
Control (CDC) - Maintains a complete list of parasites found in
the world. Parasite outbreaks increase during the summer months,
due to the warmer weather: Common carriers are dogs, cats,
flees, ticks and mosquitoes. Hookworms can even enter the body
through the sole of a bare foot.
The most
common parasites to infect humans in the United States and
Canada are roundworm, hookworm, pinworm, and tapeworm. Posted on
the Center for Disease Control (CDC) website.
